Veronica + David [Camp Lucy - Dripping Springs, TX]

Some of you may remember our friends Veronica and David from our photobooth snaps at Diane & Willet’s wedding a few months ago. At the time, It just so happened that they were planning their own wedding back in Austin, so when they approached us about filming their wedding in Austin, we jumped at the opportunity!

You see, there’s something special about getting married in the Hill Country – watching mother nature work her magic while sitting beneath Texas’ big starry sky and letting the clouds pass you by. In fact, this is exactly what Veronica and David saw when they found Camp Lucy: a chance to offer a taste of the Hill Country to all of their friends and relatives, coming from as close as Houston and as far away as New York. (I’d have to say, authentic barbecue from The Salt Lick probably sealed the deal!)

The entire night was filled with fun and laughter as Veronica & David’s guests came from all over the country to celebrate their marriage – even Timmy the Cat made a guest appearance at the photobooth! Top that off with a last dance beneath confetti and bubbles and I’m sure the bride and groom had a wedding that they will never forget. Congrats Veronica & David!

Maggie + Jeff [The Royal - Playa del Carmen, Mexico]

Maggie + Jeff [The Royal - Playa del Carmen, Mexico] from AM3 Photography on Vimeo.

That’s what we first think about when we picture our friends Maggie & Jeff. Because that’s where we ran into them last year, congratulating them on their recent engagement – browsing the “Marketplace” section, and shopping for kitchen utensils.

However, as we soon found out, their story was much more than just flat-packed ready-to-assemble furniture and swedish meatballs. After Maggie & Jeff invited us to Playa del Carmen for the week to film their wedding, we learned the story of how the couple met briefly at freshman orientation at UT Austin, but then didn’t reconnect until years later, through their ballroom dance & two-step class. We heard first hand how Maggie was so awesome, she was surrounded by the love and support of two best friends instead of just one. And we even shed a couple tears, as Jeff told Maggie that he would never leave her alone, sealing his vow with a perfect kiss.

Nothing could stop this celebration from going through the night – not even the half hour of rain that came pouring down onto the beach just after the toasts. In fact, coupled with some beautiful sunrises off the beach overlooking the crystal clear blue ocean, the week ended just as perfectly as it started, leaving big imprints in memories for years to come. Congrats to Maggie and Jeff and may your new lives together be filled with epic happiness =)

Diane + Willet [The Gallery - Houston, TX]

One of the great things about filming weddings is getting a chance to see how each couple is unique. Take our friends Diane & Willet, for example. As big coffee drinkers, they wanted to make sure their guests had an on-site barista serving cappuccinos late into the night. Since Willet is a chef and Diane is a teacher, their photobooth was stocked with a chef’s hat, a gigantic apple, a rubber chicken, and owls (for their alma mater). And as big basketball fans, Diane & Willet decided to replace the traditional “garter toss” with a “basketball toss” – where the lucky single guy who caught a basketball would come home with a complete basketball arcade game! All of this, along with some great wedding styling ideas from Diane’s best friend, Hannah, made for a great celebration that marks just the beginning of the couple’s lives together. Cheers to Diane & Willet!

Kimly + Daniel – St. Justin Martyr / Treebeard’s – Houston, TX

Our friends Kimly and Daniel met at The University of Texas in Austin, somewhere between bowls of cereal at Jester and taking classes at UTC and CAB. But when graduation came around and it was time to get out into the “real world”, Kimly ended up taking a job in California, while Daniel went back to his native Dallas. They braved through their long distance relationship through the use of technology (skype and google chat) and many many frequent flier miles. And while Kimly did try to convince Daniel to move out to California, she eventually found a way to “come home” back to Texas.

Fast forward to their wedding day where Kimly and Daniel got married at St. Justin Martyr in Houston where Kimly grew up. Afterwards, the couple’s friends and family helped to decorate, emcee, and even DJ their reception at Treebeard’s on Market Square (arguably some of the best Cajun food in Houston!). Finally, after a great night of games and dancing, Kimly and Daniel made their exit onto the streets of downtown Houston down a line of sparklers. While this may be the end of the first day as husband and wife, we know that this is just the beginning of their lives together. Congrats Kimly & Daniel!

Joanna + Christian at Vintage Villas – Austin, TX

Every story has a beginning. And for this one, the story began when Joanna was late for class. Scrambling to find a seat, she found the only seat available was next to a handsome young man named Christian. They got to talking, and from then on, Joanna’s seat was always in the same spot – right beside Christian. As time went on, this adventurous couple took on a handful of marathons and bike rides together until Christian bent down on one knee and proposed to Joanna at the Great Urban Adventure Race here in Austin!

Joanna and Christian returned to Austin to get married on a beautiful afternoon with a great view of Lake Travis – a fun-filled night with family coming in from across the country. But by the end the night, Joanna still got her seat right by Christian, just as promised.

Kat + Tony @ Kindred Oaks – Georgetown, TX (Next Day Edit)

Back in school, Tony always had a knack for cooking. After nights out at the bars, many of us could be found at his small apartment off Riverside Drive, where Tony would be dishing out hot, tasty servings of his famous queso or breakfast tacos into the wee hours of the morning.

So when I found out that Tony (now sous chef at Trattoria Lisina in Driftwood) had finally proposed to his amazing girlfriend Kat (who also happens to work at Trattoria Lisina), I jumped at the opportunity to help him out. Kat was originally looking for a way to stream their wedding to her grandparents in Virgina, but rather than just setting up a webcam, we dedcided to go ahead and do a full on Next Day Edit (NDE) so that all of her family and friends could quickly see the happiness that this couple exudes. Here, we present a small glimpse into Kat & Tony’s wedding day, a gorgeous afternoon in the Texas Hill Country, filled with heart warming speeches, Texas-sized donuts, and most of all, Love.

Cat & Matthias Courthouse Wedding in Austin, TX

Cat and Matthias had an awesome plan — invite their friends to dinner under the guise of celebrating Cat’s birthday, only to surprise all of them with the news that they got married!  Judging by the looks of disbelief on their friends’ faces, the plan definitely worked.  In case there are still any lingering doubts, we captured an entire set of photos chronicling their romantic wedding at the courthouse.  :-)

Ana and Servando Wedding at River Oaks Garden Club

We have to admit that we were pretty excited when Ana & Servando chose us to capture their wedding. When we first spoke to them last June, they had ideas for a Spanish-themed wedding, complete with flamenco-style fans for the ladies and a Spanish guitar duo providing the ceremony music.  Coupled with an outdoor dance floor and our signature AM3 Photography Photobooth, the celebration held on through the night until the couple exited in their getaway car, a brand new Ford Mustang! Ana & Servando are truly blessed and we’re sure that their commitment to each other will last through the years.

Christine & Sam Wedding at the Scoot Inn

Christine and Sam have a great sense of style — and it was on full display at their wedding at the Scoot Inn located in East Austin.  Vintage decorations adorned the venue, from old photographs placed on antique bookshelves to an actual working  typewriter that guests could use to leave them messages!  With backgrounds in both music and dance, the newly wedded couple entered to a song written by the groom before wowing the audience with an original choreographed number.  There were some modern touches too, like Topo Chico, Mexican Coke, and a choice of either delicious strawberry or blueberry cake balls.  Through to the end, guests were rockin’ out and dancing into the night to not one but two live bands.  Christine and Sam certainly put together a unique party and as long time friends of theirs, we were happy to be there to capture all the fun.

Rebecca & Scott Get Married!

The thing that probably stands out most about Rebecca and Scott is that they’re a genuinely down-to-earth and easy going couple. We first shot their engagement pictures back in April and they loved our pictures so much that they booked us for their wedding. This same light-hearted, laid back demeanor shown through at their wedding as well.  Scott displayed his prowess with words both during the ceremony and then at the reception, where he described colorfully how much Rebecca means to him.  And Rebecca was all smiles all day long and and looked like she was truly enjoying her wedding day.  And of course, their two dachshunds were on hand to celebrate their parents’ special day.  We had a great time shooting their wedding at Hummingbird House.
